If you see the parent zone is already occupied error, it usually means that the domain you are trying to add or verify is already linked to another account or configuration. To resolve this, you need to prove ownership of the domain by adding a TXT record to your DNS settings and then contact Gcore Support for verification.
Issue description
This error appears when Gcore detects that the parent zone for your domain is already in use. In most cases, this means the domain conflict must be resolved before the domain can be added successfully. Domain ownership verification helps confirm that you control the DNS zone.
What you need before you start
Before you begin, make sure you have access to the DNS management panel for your domain and the ability to create a TXT record. You will also need to contact Gcore Support after the record is added.
Add the TXT record
Add a TXT record to the DNS settings of the domain that is causing the conflict. Use the following values:
| Field | Value |
| Type | TXT |
| Name | gcoreproof |
| Value | [Insert verification value if provided by Gcore] |
If your DNS provider requires the full host name, enter gcoreproof as the record name. If your provider requires the domain to be specified separately, add the record under the affected domain.
Verify the record with Gcore Support
After you save the TXT record, contact Gcore Support and ask them to verify the record and resolve the parent zone conflict. Include the domain name and any verification details requested by Support.
- Log in to your DNS provider and confirm that the TXT record is published.
- Contact Gcore Support through the Help Center or your usual support channel.
- Provide the domain name, the TXT record name gcoreproof, and any required proof of ownership.
- Wait for Support to confirm the record and remove the domain conflict.
If the issue is not resolved
If Gcore Support cannot verify the record, check the following:
- The TXT record was added to the correct domain.
- The DNS changes have fully propagated.
- The record name is exactly gcoreproof.
- You provided the correct domain and account details to Support.
If needed, update the record and contact Support again for another verification attempt.
