It is possible to upgrade your Cloud virtual machine simply from the Customer Portal in just a few clicks.
Let’s look at the steps you need to take to perform it.
- Locate your Virtual Machine in the Customer Portal. Go to the tab Cloud -> Virtual Instances. Don’t forget to make sure you’re located in the needed Project and Location of your VM:
- Click on three dots
next to your Machine and click on Overview:
- Find the tab Configuration and click on it. Choose the configuration you require and click Change configuration:
Some important details about the upgrade process to keep in mind:
- You cannot upgrade or downgrade your Basic VM;
- Your instance will be rebooted to change the configuration. You will receive a warning before confirmation;
- Price will be recalculated automatically;
- You can downgrade your VM, however, note that the disk space will change which could lead to potential data loss.
